Seeds may easily get mixed up or be mislabelled. The only way to verify a seed is the correct species is to grow it out and use botanical descriptions from monographs, flora or other sources to compare botanical identification markers. To learn about identifying botanical features, check out our members' video library for ""Plant Identification for Beginners" & "Identification of Chinese Medicinal Plants" presented by Robyn Klein, MS. When Robyn grows out plants, she documents measurements and descriptions of flower, leaf, and root. Her favourite sources for checking botanicals in the garden are Flora of China & American Herbal Pharmacopoeia
